I was about to suggest this feature as well!! I will have to go into my square invoicing in order to collect deposits this season.
so our work around is to create a coupon for the % the deposit is and then apply that. it shows a deposit on the financial section then shows remaining balance. then we go into the customers profile and charge the deposit straight from their"manage credit card" section of the account. then we go back to the appointment and put a private note that the deposit is paid. this way the appointment still shows a remaining balance (which also shows on their appointment reminder.... the only problem is if any step is missed like forgetting to charge the deposit, or forgetting to annotate you did on the appointment you can easily mess up your financials or over charge the customer.... so a way to do this built in would be ideal. i would love to not have to go back and forth between screens

This feature would allow customers to make a partial payment or deposit towards a first time cleaning service, and then make additional payments or deposits until the total balance is paid off. This could be useful for situations where customers need to make a payment over time, or for businesses that require a deposit to secure a reservation or service.
There should also be a way to combine multiple payment methods for one appointment that is reflected on the invoice - like $125 on credit card and $75 check - and show a partial payment with a balance owed.

Totally NEED this, it's not uncommon for a client to leave payment when not home, or pay ahead, but then ask for extra time during the cleaning. The invoicing should be able to reflect the partial payments as well.
This would be nice to have for those new clients, when I have to take an initial payment first and the remainder later.
Quentin Rankin: Exactly. Glad it was already asked. We charge an initial fee for first time cleanings if the home needs extra cleaning. We can't put in a recurring payment until the 2nd visit, and by then we've forgotten how much to charge and have to look back on their contract.
We've been taking a lot of deposit to schedule the cleaning, and we collect via credit cards payment, it would be super helpful if the app could not mark the appointment paid until the full amount is paid off.
